NYSC 2026 Registration: How to Check NYSC Senate List & Registration Portal

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially announced that the NYSC 2026 registration will commence on 23rd March, 2026. This marks the beginning of the mobilisation process for eligible Nigerian graduates who are preparing to participate in the mandatory one year national service programme.

All Prospective Corps Members are expected to complete their online registration through the official NYSC portal once the portal is opens. The NYSC 2026 registration process will involve verification of the Senate and Academic Board Approved List, uploading mandatory documents and completion of personal and academic details.

All eligible graduates are strongly advised to confirm that their names appear on the approved NYSC senate list submitted by their institutions before the registration date.

What is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a mandatory one year programme established by the federal government in May 22,1973 to promote unity and national development in Nigeria. The NYSC was established by the federal government to engage Nigerian graduates in community service, skill building and national development after completing their bachelors degree or higher National Diploma (HND) programme in recognized institutions. 

This NYSC scheme brings together Nigerian youths from diverse ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds in a collaborative programme fostering patriotism and national integration.

NYSC Mobilization Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for NYSC mobilization, graduates must:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen.
  • You must have graduated from a recognized and accredited university or polytechnic.
  • Your institution must submit your name to National youth service corps (NYSC) for mobilization.
  • You must have graduated  turning before the age of 30 to qualify for participating NYSC.
  • Graduates who exceed 30 years at the time of graduation receive a Certificate of Exemption instead of serving.

Step by Step Guide to NYSC 2026 Online Registration

Follow the steps below to successfully register for the NYSC 2026 service year:

Step 1: NYSC Registration Portal: Visit the NYSC Official Portal via https://portal.nysc.org.ng using

Step 2: Verify Your on NYSC Senate List: Use the Verify Senate List to check if your name is successfully mobilizing by enter your matriculation number, surname, select institutions and date of birth. Only graduates who their names appeared on the Senate list can proceed to register for the NYSC 2026

Step 3: Create an account: Once your name is on the NYSC verify senate list you can proceed to start registration by creating an Account using your active email address and active phone number to create a profile with NYSC. Once you have created a profile you will receive an activation link via email address to activate your account

Step 4: Complete Your Basic Details: Fill the required fields with your personal information such includes name, date of birth, address, contact information and the next of kin details

Step 5: Upload Required Documents: Upload your cleared photograph with white background, signature, degree certificate or statement of result) and other mandatory files.

Step 6: Complete Capture Biometric Data: Capture your biometric data (thumbprint).

Step 7: Review details and Submit: You should review all the details before submission. Once the details are correct and accurate click on submit the registration.

Step 8: Await for Call-Up Letter: Once your application is been approved my NYSC board you will be issued NYSC Call-Up Letter on your profile. The NYSC Call-Up Letter contains your reporting date, camp location and deployment state

Documents to be Printed After NYSC Registration

After completing your NYSC online registration and completed the biometric capture, prospective corp members need to print and sorted their  documents.These are the mandatory documents all prospective corp members must present to the NYSC camp.

1. NYSC Green Card: Your NYSC Green Card is the first document issued after successful completed your NYSC online registration. This NYSC Green Card confirms that your information have been received and verified on the NYSC registration portal.

2. NYSC Call-up Letter: After the NYSC  registration portal has closed, NYSC will approved the prospective application and issue a call-up  letter to them. This call-up letter is one of the mandatory NYSC documents to be presented at the NYSC orientation CAMP and it also contains the prospective corp members deployment status, CAMP address and the reporting date.

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) FAQS 

Q1. Who is eligible to serve?

A bachelors degree and HND holders who is turning before 30 years from the date of graduation. A students graduated before 30 years old are eligible to participating in National youth services corps (NYSC). 

The National youth services corps (NYSC) board considered the date, month and the year of graduation. For example, a student with date of birth 10/01/1995 and graduated in 08/01/2025 are exempted from participating NYSC.

Q2: Who is exempted from NYSC?

A bachelors degree and HND holders who is above 30 years from the date of graduation. A students graduated later than 30 years old are not eligible to participating in National youth services corps (NYSC). 

The National youth services corps (NYSC) board considered the date, month and the year to exempt graduates from participating NYSC.For example, a student with date of birth 10/01/1996 and graduated in 11/02)1/2025 are exempted from participating NYSC.

Graduates who exceed 30 years at the time of graduation will automatically exempted from the service and only exemption letter will be issue to them.

Q3: How to Check NYSC Senate List?

All graduates can check their names on the NYSC senate list once the institutions sent the names of graduates to the National youth services corps (NYSC) board for mobilization and the NYSC uploaded the names on their portal.
