JAMB Update For 2025/2026 Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the tertiary education stakeholders (TES) has officially sets and approved the Minimum age limit and the cutoff Mark for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Candidates for admission into 2025/2026 academic session.
Meanwhile, the federal government has reiterated its position on 16 years as the minimum age for entry into higher education. At this years annual tertiary admission policy conference held in Abuja, on Tuesday, the conference sets and approved 150 as the admission benchmark for the admission into universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education.
The meeting approved 140 for nursing colleges across the country. This means that no university will admit students who score below the approved cut-off mark, while institutions can adjust the higher cut-off marks for their applicants.
Similarly, Last year 140 were accepted for university admissions and 100 for teaching arts and colleges of education. The decision was taken after a vote by the heads of institutions. The cut-off marks for universities, deans of polytechnics and provosts of colleges of education were selected by the vice chancellors.

The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede and the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, have urged institutions to increase the minimum cut-off mark to at least 160. However, most institution heads have insisted on increasing the minimum cut-off mark.
Also, the federal government has officially sets 16 years as the age limit for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has designated a portal for both UTME/DE candidates for registration and updates Data.
