The Federal Government will begin distributing interest free loans to small holder farmers and traders across the country by the end of 2025, said Hamza Ibrahim Baba, the National Programme Manager of the Government Enterprise, Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
According to the Programme manager said, each beneficiary of the scheme can access a loans of up to N100,000 under GEEP Farmer Moni scheme, which is designed to support small older farmers engaged in poultry, fish, livestock and crop production etc.
Also, he urged business groups and cooperatives to work with GEEP officers and data collectors in the 774 local government areas of the country to ensure that only deserving beneficiaries are benefitted from the programme.

The success of this program depends on honesty and proper screening. According to him said, we want to reach those who really need it, not those who are just looking for access to the system.
The programme also, explained that beneficiaries of the scheme will be given a six month grace period before they start repaying the loans, to enable them to start farming or herding before the funds are repaid. He said the funds will help in purchasing fertilizers, livestock, veterinary drugs and other necessary equipment.
The GEEP program is under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and is part of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).

About Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP)
GEEP is a program initiatives to provides interest free loans to small scale industries, small traders, artisans, youth entrepreneurs and farmers, to develop their businesses and improve financial inclusion.
The GEEP program was designed in 2016 under the previous administration of Muhammadu Buhari.The previous administrations and ministers who had played a role in the development of GEEP since 2016, saying that improvements were being made to further improve the system and ensure equity.

The GEEP program is divided into three parts: Trader moni, Market moni and the Farmer moni, the loan ranged is based on the three schemes under the GEEP program.
To participate in this program, there is no link or application portal to apply, each local government has its own agents who reaches out to the interested peoples. You can visit the NOA of officers and data collectors in your local government to fill out the GEEP application form.
GEEP Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for GEEP loan, you need to meets the following requirements:
- Must be a Nigerian citizen with aged between 18 to 45 years old.
- Must be a Marker, Trader and or Farmer.
- Must be fill out the application form with attached documents through the GEEP officers and data collectors at NOA offices in 774 respective LGAs.

Components of Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP)
GEEP launched three Schemes namely: The Market Moni, Trader Moni, and the Farmer Moni.
1.Trader Moni: Trader Moni for youth aged 18 to 45 years who are involved in small scale businesses
2.Market Moni: Market Moni for women entrepreneurs.
3.Farmer Moni: Farmer Moni for small scale farmers in rural areas.

GEEP Loans Range
The loans range from 5,000 to 100,000 is based on a structured framework to ensure sustainability through monitoring and evaluation. The loan ranged is based on the three schemes under the GEEP program.
