YDPAT Program For Nigerians
The Federal Government has launches a YDPAT program to train 5,000 Nigerian youths and bridge the country technology gap.The inaugural ceremony of the conference was held at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Conference Hall in FCT Abuja, and was presided over by the Minister of Youth Development, Mr Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele. This program is a collaborative effort, supported by senior government officials, to empower our youth.
The Youth Data Awareness and Training Programme (YDPAT) is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) and the Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC). We are taking proactive steps to bridge the digital skills gap in Nigeria, equipping youth with the tools to secure their future and drive our digital economy forward.

YDPAT is structured around five clear objectives aligned with the NDPA 2023 and is a digital beacon for Nigeria.
1. Enhance Job Performance: Get a security clearance with a unique ID card with a proven path to identity.
2. Open Career Opportunities: We have established a database to provide job placement and training for young people.
3. Build a network of Advocates as a powerful tool to advocate for issues in your community and workplace.
4. Raise Awareness: Deepen your understanding of Nigeria’s data protection laws and the best practices in the world.
5. Ensure Sustainability of Your Journey: Through YDPAT the program is structured in positive terms to impact and ensure a learning experience.

Benefits of YDPAT Program
1. Awareness Campaign: A multi stakeholder outreach to engage stakeholders and engage youth across all six geopolitical zones.
2. Certification Pathway A comprehensive certification for 1,000 committed participants to prepare them for official DPO roles.
3. Post Training Engagement Mentoring programs, job placement support, and an alumni network for ongoing development.
4. Training Delivery A hands-on introductory training delivered online and on-site, providing 5,000 youth with foundational skills.

YDPAT Application Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the UDPAT program you need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Nigerian Citizens by birth
- Having a Means of Identification (National identity card)
- Valid Email address and Phone Number
- A Minimum First School Leaving Certificate (Primary certificate)
- Age Limit of between 18 and above.

How to Apply YDPAT Program
Interested Nigerians young can now apply for the UDPAT program through the following steps:
1. Visit the YDPAT Program Official Portal at https://ydpat.fmyd.gov.ng/registration.
2. Fill out the form by supply your Personal Information, Address Information, and Educational information.
3. Uploads a cleared scanned copies of the following documents:
- A recent Passport photography
- Means of Identification (NIN Slip)
- Education Certificates
4. Preview/review of your Informations entering
5. Submit your Application form after the Preview
