Yakubu Gowon University Abuja List Of Courses Offered:The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has renamed the University of Abuja to Yakubu Gowon University Abuja.
This renamed of University Abuja was disclosed on Monday 16 December, 2024 by the Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientations, after the FEC meeting preceded over by the President Ahmad Bola Tinubu.
Speaking to reporters at the state government palace, Muhammed Idris, said that the decision was taken to honor the former president and elder of Abuja, namely Yakubu Gowon. The minister said that the decision will go through the National Assembly, but the FEC has taken this decision.

The Federal Ministry of Education will continue to prepare the necessary documents to change the University Act, which will be submitted to the National Assembly for approval to change the name of the University of Abuja. This is the beginning of a new chapter for this institution. confirming its legacy as the Yakubu Gowon University Abuja.
