FG Upskilling Program 2026: Apply for Training for 10 Million Nigerian Youths and Women
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launches a nationwide upskilling programme to train and empower 10 million Nigerian youths and women with practical and in demand skills at no cost across Nigeria.
The Federal government through the WAWU Africa in collaboration with other organizations is now accepting an applications from interested and qualified Nigerian youths and women for it is upskilling training programme 2026. The aims of this initiatives is to train and empower 10 million Nigerian youths and women with practical skills.
About the Programme
The Federal Government Free Upskilling Programme has officially launches a large scale national initiative aimed at equipping 10 million Nigerian youths and women with relevant practical and future ready skills notimwide.
The programme is implemented by the federal government through the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI) under the leadership of Vice President Kashim Shettima as part of the broader economic agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Federal government is working in collaboration with major development partners and institutions such as the African Union, World Bank, Economic Community of West African States and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) for ensure effective implementation and sustainability to train and empower 10 million Nigerian youths and women.
The free upskilling training programme will cover a wide range of focus areas, including:
- Digital and information technology (IT) skills
- Financial literacy and personal finance management
- Entrepreneurship and small business development
- Creative and innovative industries
- Vocational and technical training
- Health and wellness education
- Hospitality and tourism services

Eligibility Criteria
Participates to be qualify for the upskilling programme, participants are expected to meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Participates must be a Nigerian citizen
- Participants must fall within the youth or women
- Participants must possess a valid means of identification (e.g NIN or BVN)
- Participates nust have access to a smartphone or internet enabled device
- Participants must be willing to complete the training programme

The application process for the Federal Government Free Upskilling Programme is conducted online and is divided into six simple stages. Interested and eligible Nigerians should follow the steps below carefully to complete your registration successfully:
Step 1: Program Portal
Visit the programme official portal via wawuafrica.com
Step 2: Identity Verification
Start your application by providing your personal details and completing your identity verification.
- Enter your full name, date of birth and contact details
- Provide a valid means of identification (eg NIN or BVN)
Step 3: Profile Information
Complete your profile by supplying details about your background.
- Fill in your educational qualifications
- Provide your work experience (if available)
- State your career goals and areas of interest
Step 4: Business Details
If you own an existing business or plan to start a business, you will be required to provide business related information.
- Enter your business name
- Describe your business or intended business activity
- Provide any relevant experience in entrepreneurship
Step 5: Financial Information
At this stage, you will provide details related to financial inclusion and banking.
- Enter your bank account details
- Provide other financial information as requested
Step 6: Consent and Submission
