The 26th FIFA World Cup is coming to North America, and dedicated volunteers are needed to help make the event a success. As a volunteer, you will be part of a dynamic team that travels across three countries and 16 host cities, working together to bring the world’s biggest football event to life.

The FIFA World Cup 26 is a global program, open to applicants from all over the world. Candidates must be eligible to volunteer in the Host city and meet the eligibility criteria

We are looking to welcome over 65,000 volunteers to this event. We anticipate that interest and demand will exceed the number of volunteer positions available. We encourage you to complete the online application and evaluation form as soon as possible.

Applications August-September 2025: Candidates should take a time to read and understand the FIFA Volunteer programme requirements, Complete the application form and also, complete the online assessment. Candidates should take note that you may only select one option as your preferred Host City.

FIFA Volunteer Role Offers

December 2025 – March 2026: If selected, you’ll receive your official volunteer role offer. The FIFA Volunteer background of the FIFA reviews will be taken place upon acceptance of a conditional offer. Candidates should take note that this process varies for Mexico.

October 2025 – January 2026: If you’re invited to attend Volunteer Team Tryouts, this is our chance to get to know you better. You’ll also connect with fellow volunteers, meet your Volunteer Management team, and experience a glimpse of the tournament.

March – June 2026: Like all great football teams, there’s lots of prep that goes into stepping onto the pitch of the FIFA World Cup. After accepting your role offer, your journey kicks off with mandatory training designed to prepare you for your role.

How many volunteers will be selected?

Do I need previous volunteer experience?

No previous experience is required! If you enjoy being part of a FIFA event, we invite you to apply.

Can I apply for more than one volunteer position?

As part of your application, you can share your preferred role locations. We will do our best to offer a role that matches your preferred choice, however, this cannot be guaranteed.

Will I be paid to volunteer?

While volunteering is typically unpaid, it is a once in a lifetime experience! From making lifelong friends to developing new skills and being part of something bigger, it is an opportunity to create lasting memories.

Does FIFA pay any fees for volunteers?

The costs associated with volunteering are not covered by FIFA. Volunteers will need to arrange their own travel to the Host Country and Host City, as well as accommodation, and cover any associated costs. Volunteers will receive food and drinks during their journey.

Applicants can follow progress on the volunteer self dashboard at the program official portal. We will also send you updates via email and the FIFA volunteer application.

Does FIFA help volunteers obtain visas?

FIFA cannot help volunteers obtain visas. Volunteers must comply with the entry requirements of the country in question.

How are volunteers selected?

The FIFA 26 Volunteer Team conducts the volunteer selection process. The team carefully reviews each application, conducts an online assessment and a Volunteer Skills Assessment to match volunteers with jobs that match their profiles.
