Youth Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative Programme

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development under the sponsorship of Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the Compressed Natural Gas Initiatives Programme which is part of the broader strategy to strengthen economic inclusion, promote clean energy adoption and reduce the cost of transportation nationwide.

The Compressed Natural Gas initiative programme was launched in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda which is mainly focus on sustainable development, job creation and improved living standards for Nigerian youth citizens.

The federal government is set to distribution 2,000 CNG tricycles to beneficiaries across the Nigeria with a strong focus on empowering young Nigerians. This programed is designed to provide direct economic opportunities by enabling beneficiaries to engage in affordable and environmentally friendly transportation services in the country.

The CNG Initiatives Programme is also expected to stimulate local industries and create value chains around vehicle conversion, maintenance, and gas distribution. This CNG Initiatives Programme will open up new employment opportunities for technicians, engineers and small business owners. For Nigerians young people, the tricycles are not serve as only means of transport but as a gateway to self reliance and long term income generation.

The Federal Government launches the the programme with plans to scale up the initiative across Nigeria. Future phases are expected to include expanded infrastructure for CNG refueling, technical training for operators and partnerships with the private sector to ensure sustainability and efficiency.
